Year 5 – Deptford Creek Discovery Centre

April 27, 2017

Year 5 will be visiting Deptford Creek Discovery Centre to reinforce their science and humanities topic this term and to gain a better understanding of rivers and their habitats.  The children will explore the features of a river; find out about habitats within the river system and test samples of river water to determine if it is clean and a suitable habitat.

Pupils should wear warm casual clothing, i.e. jogging bottoms and old trainers or wellington boots, this adventure can be very muddy so we suggest you pack a spare pair of bottoms for your child to change into and clean dry footwear.

They will travel by public transport and will leave school at 8.15am to return approx. 3.15pm. Pupils will require a packed lunch, if you would like the school to provide a packed lunch please see a member of the school admin team and give plenty of notice please for this request. It can not be arranged on the day of the trip.

Class 5T will be visiting the centre on 27th April and 5C will confirm their date as soon as possible.  Keep a look out for some photos of the pupils later in our photo gallery.
